Putin: Russia one of key world’s energy security guarantors
NOVO-OGARYOVO, Moscow Region, Nov 29 (PRIME) -- Russia’s huge exports ensure its position of one of the world’s key energy security guarantors, President Vladimir Putin told the Security Council on Thursday.
“The huge exports including to the E.U. states, the Asia Pacific region, the CIS, brings substantial income to Russia and helps it retain the position of one of the core energy security guarantors,” he said.
“Unique reserves of all key energy sources allow us to cover domestic demand fully.”
However, Russia sees unfair competition on the energy market, including a ban on supplies of energy machinery equipment to the state and pressure on its trade partners.
“In this respect, (we need to) define additional measures to react to such challenges timely. The updated energy security concept is aimed at solving these very issues. Today, we will discuss its draft,” he added.
Putin also said that Russia needs to strengthen support of its energy companies abroad.
